Senator Barbara Boxer Forces Debate of Ohio Vote Count

In a historic move, California Senator Barbara Boxer signed a challenge by House Democrats to the certification of Ohio's 2004 presidential vote tally, thus forcing debate in both the house and the Senate and the House. Later, Boxer was the only Senator to vote to object.
As the debate was taking place in Washington voting rights activists gathered outside of Boxer's San Francisco office to show their support for her actions.
