Surprisingly, I am still a dot-comer after having worked at a succession of startup companies. My years at startup companies have taught me several things:

1. People spend too much money.
2. No matter how much you know, you can always be fooled.
3. Silicon Valley is boring boring boring!
4. If you build it they won’t always come (or even care.)
5. I am further to the left than almost everyone I work with.
