San Francisco from Treasure Island
There are probably millions of photos taken of San Francisco taken from this vantage point on Treasure Island so I thought I would experiment a bit with this high contrast photo with intentionally blown highlights and lens flare.
Sand
The more sand has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it.
—Niccolo Machiavelli
Layers
A sand dune slowly blows into Abbotts Lagoon, Point Reyes Seashore, California.
Star Flare
The light hit the lens just right for this ring of flare. Taken near Abbotts Lagoon, Point Reyes Seashore, California. If you look very closely you can see a flock of gulls seeming to fly into the sun.
Sunset over Abbotts Lagoon
With a recent lack of rain to fill the brackish lagoon sandbars are revealed in the setting sun, Abbotts Lagoon, Point Reyes Seashore, California.
Flight
Monarch butterflies begin to take flight from clusters on branches in a eucalytus grove, their winter home, Natural Bridges State Beach, Santa Cruz, California.
Star
Our sun is a star of course so I though I would give it the starburst treatment with an f-stop of 32. The processed image is almost exactly the same as the raw color image including the near sepia monochrome tone and high contrast. Taken near Abbotts Lagoon, Point Reyes Seashore, California.
Stars
Just another iPhone Photo.
